Welcome to the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at MDCC

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Mississippi Delta Community College is dedicated to supporting and empowering faculty and staff across all instructional sites, programs, and delivery methods. Our mission is to foster a culture of teaching excellence, innovation, and continuous professional growth for educators at MDCC and throughout our seven-county service area.

Purpose and Scope

The CTL provides comprehensive teaching support, both pedagogical and technical, for all MDCC faculty and staff. We serve the full spectrum of instructional settings, including traditional, online, hybrid, dual credit, Middle College, and Prison Education. In addition to supporting MDCC educators, the CTL works collaboratively with teaching partners across the region to enhance instruction and learning in a variety of educational environments.

A cornerstone of the CTL’s work is our New Faculty Mentorship Program, designed to offer meaningful guidance and encouragement to new instructors as they transition into the MDCC culture, and for many, into collegiate teaching for the first time. Through mentoring relationships, new faculty will receive personalized support, institutional knowledge, and access to effective teaching practices that help build confidence and success from the start.

We are also proud to provide high-impact programming for all educators in our region, including workshops and trainings on Praxis testing, professional ethics, creative and innovative instructional practices, and much more.
