Elementary Education
Secondary Education
We offer two majors. Education courses in the department are dedicated to preparing students to enter the field of education at the elementary or secondary level. Our faculty members provide an individualized learning experience for our students that encourages and develops the leadership skills needed to excel in the classroom setting. Students taking these courses have opportunities to observe in actual classrooms matched to their interests. Students are also offered courses that provide the foundational knowledge needed to be successful future educators.

Elementary Education is designed to prepare students to transfer into a 4-year university and earn a bachelor’s degree with licensure to teach kindergarten-8th grade. Perfect for those who want to work with elementary and/or middle school children.

Secondary Education is designed to prepare students to transfer into a 4-year university and earn a bachelor’s degree with licensure to teach 7th-12th. Perfect for those who want to work with junior high and/or high school students. Students can choose from a variety of concentrations including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer, Art, and Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
